It's Not Just Artwork, it's Heartwork: Our commemorative line of keepsake wedding certificates is the trendy new way to mark life’s milestones. Whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, birth, Bar & Bat Mitzvah or someone simply wanting to put their love in writing: it’s art for every heart. Each 12”x 16” print is created from an original oil by an internationally award winning illustrator using the “old school” brush-stroke-by-brush-stroke style. We then produce high quality prints that blend art and all of the personalized details of that special occasion. The gift shopper can choose a style that matches the taste of the recipient– a retro Pop Art design that looks like Madonna kissing Superman, a romantic Victorian, stylish Art Deco, Art Nouveau and more. It is our hope that couples that have one of these certificates on their wall – their own personalized piece of art – will be as happy as we are and be renewed, rekindled and reminded of their wedding day each time they see their certificate. (We even had a call last week from a couple buying for a 70th wedding anniversary!)
A funny thing happened on the way from the courthouse. It all began when we picked up our marriage license. We we're thrilled to be receiving our "official" piece of paper i.e. Marriage License, but SO very disappointed at the ugly black and white document that was supposed to symbolize our union. This began our search for a new and improved decorative certificate. We checked a few stores and websites, even ordering one or two, but it still wasn’t right. We wanted something to capture the essence of our love and romance, yet still be artistic and fit for hanging in our home. Then inspiration struck.
Who knew our sterile marriage license would spark a new business? Little did we both know when we met that it had been both of our dreams to run a business with a loving partner. Now we are able to channel our passion for art and creative expression into an exciting new area. We are in business a little over a year, celebrating our first anniversary, with our web-based Gallery of Love http://www.galleryoflove.net/ with almost 20 wedding, anniversary, relationship, Bar & Bat Mitzvah and Celebration of Birth certificates. Drawing from our marriage we wanted all of these certificates to reflect one thing: love and all it stands for. It takes time, patience, a lot of prayers (and most of our savings!) to build our new company. Plus well admit its a test of nerves with plenty of learning curves. After all when we began this process two years ago we didn’t know a website shopping cart from a grocery cart!
Now we're happy and excited to say we’ve been featured in such places as MSN.com, MSNBC.com, Family Circle, ePregnancy, House & Garden, Season, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, WGCL-TV 46s Good Morning Atlanta The Marietta Daily Journal, New Yorks WCBS Newsradio 880 and Atlantas 94.9 Lite FM.
